Who are you?
Rob Bailey aka Dr Robert head ‘honcho’ of the New Untouchables a London based organisation that promotes Mod and 60’s events and club nights and compiler of the compilation album series entitled ‘Le Beat Bespoke’ go new untouchables homepage  or myspazz page,  for more info. When and how did you got involved in the scene?
Through kids at school, The Jam, Mum and Dads record collection, School teacher playing 'Green Onions' at our school disco I bet they don't play that anymore.

Fave styles of 60s music?
I love it all from 50's blues through to late 60's Rock and all points in between. I will be playing Freakbeat, Garage and Psych in the Purple.

First DJ spot... where and when?
Way back in the last century. Started Djing at the local community centre where our local scooter club held nights at the tender age of 14 years old with Kent compilation LP's and UK Tamla 45's borrowed from Mum and Dad’s collection, not forgetting local bands records like the Prisoners and Milkshakes records. First serious DJ spots with original 45s were at the Bizz Club, Tooley St, London Bridge and at CCI rallies during 1987-88

The Highlights of your "Dj life"?
Really hard question.
Playing to two thousand Mods in the UK at CCI events during the late 80's at the age of 18 was pretty mind-blowing. Japan was amazing experience and always enjoyed Italy, Germany and of course Spain.
Probably the most consistent thing I've enjoyed has been the Mousetrap.The amount of amazing tunes that have come out of the club the last 16 years has been truly inspirational.

Hobbies?
Playing football (badly these days) and supporting the famous CFC. Riding my two vintage scooters and collecting records.

Fave film and book?
Italian Job, Caine at his best, it captures the period brilliantly and has everything great story line, humour,
beautiful cars, women, clothing a great soundtrack and a brilliant ending. Book would be the Keith Moon biography what an amazing life Moon the loon led.

SPIDER WEBB n COFFIN JOE (THE HORRORS)

These 2 young horrors play Organ and Drums respectively, in one of the UKs toppermost, horror, trash, garage beat mash-up combos, often seen on TV and in the papers, they even recently appeared in an alter-ego band THE BLACK TUBES (thin drainpipe legs zufan fans!) in THE MIGHTY BOOSH TV series. Often still finding time to chip in DJ slots for the various NUTs and 60s type events in and around the smoke, together they have an increasingly large and diverse collection of dark wax gems that they spin for the benefit of long hot sweaty nights of dancing and partying!
Expect rare beat, garage, gritty rnb, psych and no holes barred rock n roll mayhem!

MICHAEL WINK (GERMANY)

When and how did you got involved in the scene?
When I was 15 years old, I lived in a very small town. One of the few shops had some old Vespas in the window, which I found fascinating.  Looking at them one day, a local Mod came up to me and told me I had to become a Mod also. I bought my first scooter in 1984 and got involved in Düsseldorf’s Mod scene.

Fave styles of 60s music?
I have a various taste in different music styles. From R’n’B over 6Ts Soul to Northern, I like Freakbeat style music to Psych and also Rocksteady and early Ska

First DJ spot where and when?
I was asked to DJ on a Mod night because the resident DJ was in hospital. At this time, I had only a few LPs. The night became so popular that a lot of people from all over Germany and Belgium went on a regular basis.

Highlights of your “DJ life”?
The next party is always the best!

Hobbies?
My big fave is traveling, collecting party-toys like bubbleshooters or pretty wigs, Repairing my scooter over all the year – it never works.

HOLLY & SARAH (EWO - Scotland)

We've been running Eyes Wide Open Club for 3 years now, pushing forward garage & psych in the soul-obsessed Glasgow, showcasing our favourite bands every month (some from the 60s scene, but not exclusively), plus some great special guest DJs (Alessandro Detassis (All Saints/Radio London), The Horrors, Mikey & Paul (Friday Street), Andrew Symington (Divine) and Rob Bailey).  The past year has been a great one for us, with our first trip overseas to DJ, at the All Saints Mod Holiday in Lavarone in November, and a couple of trips down to London for Mousetrap. We're both very excited about coming down to DJ at Le Beat Bespoke 4, we absolutely cannot wait to see The Sonics & The Phantom Keys, and hope that everyone enjoys our sets.

“Once I was nice and polite, than I discovered electric guitar distorsion and became cool and wild.” I have been D.J at several major Mod/60’s event in Europe over the last 15 years, discovering some of the dancefloor burners you still enjoy dancing today. I’m a serious collector of  Freakbeat and Garage original 45s, but my tastes are varied. MIKEY COLLINS (GLASGOW)

Been into the whole mod way of life since a very young age and like lots of people in my age group it was through being a fan of The Jam. I was always into buying records but probably started collecting seriously from the age of 17-18. I'm not into the tag of being a DJ, I just buy the records that I like and have done for many years and tend to be a fan of all the classic tunes. I've got a wide taste in music but favour soul and r'n'b but also collect funk, beat, ska etc. First experience of playing in a club was at the Polish Club in Glasgow in the late eighties. I've spun records at clubs up and down the country and had a few guest spots in Europe since then. I'm co promoter and resident DJ at Scotlands Premier Mod Club, Friday Street in Glasgow (last Friday every month). Also resident at Soul Sunday every week with live band The Five Aces (formerly Boogaloo Investigators). Highlight of the year north of the border is always the Glasgow Mod Weekender which once again takes place this year between 29th June - 2nd July. I enjoy watching football (Glasgow Celtic), and fine wines and art galleries (aye right!!!). Looking forward to playing at Le Beat Bespoké 4 as I always enjoy my time in London and have many good friends there to catch up with.

In First became a Mod in 1984 via the usual school route of the time. Started going to do's & rallies in 1988. In the early 1990's me & 3 friends started organising Mod do's under the banner of 'Hipster Image RnB Club'. Mid 1990's became resident DJ along with my good mate Mike Parry at the Leadmill in Sheffield under the club name The Sound Suite & later Shaken not Stirred playing 60's funk, boogaloo etc. that lasted approx 6 years. Then became resident at Sheffield Brighton Beach with Gav Needham. Started doing the Pow Wow Club with Mike & Steve Millington in January 06.

CHRIS DALE (CATFORD)

Catford ‘Chris’ Dale has been a long respected fixture on the British Modernist Scene for many many years. A decent chap indeed and not one to "push himself to the fore"! Little is known about him apart from his strange hobby of collecting doormats? He drives a Rolls Royce and likes a good curry!

SPEED (UK)

Initially inspired to “do something” by ‘79 Mod Revival at the tender age of 14, Speed went on to attend practically every significant U.K. Mod event from the mid. ‘80s to the present day. A keen, if not unhealthy, interest in the more obscure and exotic British Beat / R&B, Psychedelic and (‘sixties) Rock records, made it inevitable that he would be asked to D.J: this he has been doing for more than 15 years, initially with the “Rhythm & Soul Set”, but most notably for the “New Untouchables”, with whom he’s been a member of the D.J. team since ‘day one’. Speed has played at most of the “Mousetrap” allnighters in London, and has been a ‘fixture’ (he doesn’t dance much!) at U.K. weekenders / rallies too. He has also made regular appearances at many London club nights and parties over the years, and indeed is better known socially in the South than in his Nottinghamshire hometown. Apart from the club scene, Speed’s interests include working on his Lambrettas, smoking for England and being quiet. 
When not playing music, he releases it, working most hours of most days (since 1999!) for Circle Records, who have the pleasure helping to produce the Le Beat Bespoké series of albums.
Responsible for a few of the more ‘unusual’ dancefloor hits, Speed still makes time to play the older / classic sounds. It will give him great pleasure, no doubt, to meet-up with you all, and to play both yours and his own record choices, at what will no doubt be another very special event!
